Description
Need an easy, special Valentine’s Day treat? Crisp phyllo shells filled with luxurious chocolate ganache create a stunning dessert using just five simple ingredients. The remaining ganache can be used to coat fresh strawberries for an elegant garnish. These Easy Chocolate Ganache Mini Tarts are as delicious as they are beautiful and will make any occasion feel special.
Ingredients
- 2 packages of Athens phyllo shells (30 shells)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 3 Tbs. butter, cubed
- Fresh strawberries, for garnish
Instructions
- Crisp the Athens phyllo shells according to package directions. (Bake in 350 degree oven for 3-5 minutes.)
- Let phyllo shells cool in refrigerator.
- Pour cream into a saucepan and place over low heat. Bring the cream to a simmer, but remove from heat before it comes to a boil. (This took about 4 minutes for me.)
- Pour the semi-sweet chocolate chips, the milk chocolate chips, and the cubed butter into a bowl.
- Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips and butter, and let is sit for about 5 minutes.
- Using a rubber spatula, slowly stir the mixture until it is well combined with a rich, and glossy color.
- Place a ziplock bag into a tall glass and pour the ganache into the bag. (This will make it easier to fill the shells.)
- Cut the tip end of one corner of the filled bag.
- Fill the phyllo shells.
- Either freeze them at this point for later use, or let the mini tarts set at room temperature for about 2 hours.
- Use the leftover ganache to cover fresh strawberries for an elegant garnish for the plate.
