  • 2 Tbs. freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 5 1/2 cups rotisserie chicken, shredded

  • 1/2 pound Swiss cheese slices
Topping
  • 4 Tbs. melted butter
  • 1 1/4 cups panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook on low for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the butter and garlic, a little at a time, stirring constantly, until a paste is formed. Cook for 1-2 minutes, until slightly browned.
  4. Slowly stir or whisk in the milk and heavy cream, stirring constantly to prevent clumps from forming.
  5. Slowly stir in the chicken broth, stirring constantly.
  6. Add Djon mustard, lemon juice, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Stir to combine.
  7. Turn heat to medium high and cook until sauce thickens. Cook for 1-2 minutes longer.
  8. Line crock pot with slow cooker liner.
  9. Pour 1/3 of the cream sauce into the bottom of the crock pot.
  10. Spread the chicken evenly over the cream sauce.
  11. Spread the ham evenly over the chicken.
  12. Layer the Swiss cheese slices over the ham.
  13. Pour the remaining sauce over the layers.
  14. Make the topping. Mix 4 Tbs. melted butter, 1 1/4 cups panko bread crumbs, and 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese together. Stir until the butter is evenly distributed with the crumbs.
  15. Finish by sprinkling the topping mixture evenly across the sauce.
  16. Cook on high for 3-4 hours.
  17. Serve hot.
