Emily's Asian Green Beans
These Asian-inspired green beans are one of those simple side dishes that always steals the show. Tender canned green beans soak up a rich, savory-sweet marinade made with soy sauce, Worcestershire, butter, and brown sugar, then get topped with crispy bacon bits and toasted almonds for the perfect crunch. It’s an easy, flavor-packed dish that feels a little special but couldn’t be simpler to make.
Upgrade your canned green beans with these simple ingredients:
- 1.5 Tbs. butter
- 3 Tbs. soy sauce
- 4 Tbs. brown sugar
- 3 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce
- 3 (15 oz.) cans cut green beans
- 1/2 cup sliced, toasted almonds
- 1/2 cup bacon bits
One of the best things about this recipe is that you make the marinade, pour it over the green beans, and let them marinate for several hours or overnight. Then you just add the toppings and bake.

Notes
- I use a can opener that creates smooth, touchable lids – no sharp edges to prevent cuts.
- The best thing about this recipe is that you prepare the sauce to mix with the green beans and let it marinate several hours. A great make-ahead side dish.
- Be sure to drain and rinse the green beans.
- You can substitute the toppings with other toasted nuts or fried onions.
