Scalloped Pineapple

Scalloped Pineapple

Some recipes are special because of the memories that come with them, and Scalloped Pineapple is one of those dishes for me. My mother made it every Thanksgiving, and it was one of her signature contributions to our holiday table. Just one bite brings back memories of family gatherings, good food, and the traditions that make the holidays so meaningful.

Scalloped Pineapple is an old-school Southern recipe that can be served as either a side dish or a dessert. It has a sweet, custard-like texture with juicy pineapple chunks and soft bread cubes baked together in a simple egg-and-milk mixture. The ingredients are humble, the preparation is easy, and the result is a comforting dish that feels right at home on a holiday table.

Traditionally, you’ll find Scalloped Pineapple served alongside Thanksgiving turkey or Christmas ham, but it’s just as welcome at Easter dinner, family reunions, and potlucks. And if you’re wondering about the sugar in a side dish, that’s part of its Southern charm! We Southerners have never been afraid to add a little sweetness to the dinner table.

This is the kind of tried-and-true recipe that deserves to be passed down through generations. Whether you serve it as a sweet accompaniment to your holiday meal or enjoy it as a simple dessert, Scalloped Pineapple is an easy, nostalgic dish that brings a little extra warmth to the table.
