There are some recipes that just feel like home, and this sweet, creamed corn casserole is one of them. I’ve enjoyed it for as long as I can remember, especially at Thanksgiving, when family favorites make their way back to the table year after year. It’s one of those simple, comforting dishes that everyone looks forward to, and it wouldn’t feel quite like the holidays without it!
Simple Ingredients:
- Butter
- Whole kernel corn – be sure to drain the liquid
- Creamed corn
- Sour cream
- Granulated sugar
- Salt
- Jiffy cornbread mix – Or you can make your own cornbread mix with 2/3 cup all-purpose flouor, 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal, 3 Tbs. sugar, 1 Tbs. baking powder, and 1/2 tsp. salt
Made with butter, whole kernel corn, creamed corn, sour cream, and Jiffy cornbread mix, this casserole is the perfect combination of sweet, creamy, and savory. The whole kernel corn adds little pops of texture, while the creamed corn and sour cream keep every bite wonderfully moist and tender. It’s soft and creamy, with just the right amount of sweetness to make it extra special.
And the best part? You mix everything right in the same baking dish you use to bake it! No extra mixing bowls, no electric mixer, and no unnecessary kitchen mess. Just add your ingredients, stir them together, and pop the dish in the oven. It’s an easy, fuss-free recipe that leaves you with fewer dishes to wash and more time to spend with the people you love.
This sweet creamed corn casserole is a natural fit for Thanksgiving dinner, but it’s just as delicious alongside a Sunday supper, a holiday ham, barbecue, or your favorite comfort foods.
